CAFS membership is open to academics, students, professionals and others interested in promoting critical, interdisciplinary food studies research. Membership can be purchased at any time. A membership starts in June and runs through May of the following year (in parallel to the CAFS fiscal year).
Please note: If you are planning to attend Congress this year with the Canadian Association for Food Studies, your membership for the year will be renewed with your conference fees. If you are unable to attend this year you can renew using the Paypal options below.
Regular Members: $100/year
Student/Un(der)waged/Retired Members: $30/year
Institutional Members: $200/year
Sustaining Members: $300/year*
*Note: $200 of Sustaining Members’ fees will go directly towards supporting CAFS administrative activities and/or the CAFS journal, Canadian Food Studies, in order to support the journal’s activities. This option is suggested for those members with research-dissemination and/or knowledge translation funding (such as Tri-Council or other large grants).

Include links and contact information in your posting so that interested members can follow up for more details. Information will be circulated on our listserv. CAFS would like to invite research ideas that identify important areas in need to be studied in more depth, as well as ideas about potential projects for graduate students. Please contact CAFS if you would like to contribute to this section. CAFS is committed building bridges between disciplines, regions, and cultures. We would particularly like to encourage collaborations between Francophone and Anglophone researchers. Please email us with ideas and initiatives that will encourage collaboration among CAFS members.
A listserv has been set up so that any member can post email to the group. We hope to use it for communicating among our members and informing you about forthcoming events, new publications, research findings, etc. Please use the “respond all” button carefully, using it only when you are sure of sending your message to the whole list. Members who are not careful about netiquette rules may loose their access to the list-serve. We hope to use this platform to inform you about forthcoming events and share insights and news related to CAFS mandate.
